“A Good Start”
Overview and Background
“A Good Start” was created to help obese people get “A Good Start” towards becoming healthier and living longer.
More than two years of research and development went into the design and content of “A Good Start”. As an educator I was constantly searching for that perfect balance between how people learn-- what they needed to learn-- and how much is to much. I knew, it didn’t matter how incredible and life changing the facts and research findings were if the particpants didn’t read and absorb and more importantly practice what was in "A Good Start".
“A Good Start” also includes many insights into the emotional roller coaster an obese person will have to face and overcome to become healthier. “A Good Start” gives the obese person the tools and the background foundation to help them ride out these ups and downs and stay motivated to complete the program. One of the keys to sticking with the program is an essential design element called "Succeed Beyound Failure" this element acknowledges that as particpants we will fail at some point the key is not to stop altogether. That is where "A Good Start" keeps you moving ahead because on those days you do fail you focus on your multiple successes and that keeps you motivated and on track.
Obese people know (as I did) that they need to lose 50 – 70 – 100 – 200 pounds. They don’t need anyone telling them that; it’s just the thought of losing that much weight over a very long indefinite timeframe is defeating before you even get started.
“A Good Start” puts the goal of losing 5 to 10% of your current weight within your reach; and even better yet “A Good Start” through medical research shows you the importance and significance of why a 5% weight loss is so incredible. You can win your fight to lose weight, gain health and live longer all you need is “A Good Start”.
Sincerely,
